McAllen’s Economic Incentive Program

The City of McAllen is open to discuss projects that reflect McAllen's strategic retail development goals including projects that involve significant employment generation, first-to-market retail, destination retail, and developments that are unique or exclusive to the market.

    Items to Submit for Consideration:
  • Project location, size
  • Description of project with timeline
  • Real and Personal Property Investment
  • Site Plan rendering of proposal
  • Estimate number of full and part-time positions
  • Average wages and salary
  • Description of Investment in Real Estate, Construction, with projections of Sales Tax Revenue and Property Tax projections
  • Any other supporting documentation
Refresh 50/50 Program

Match funds for commercial properties that upgrade their exterior appearance up to $25,000. The matching revitalization grant is intended to improve the exterior appearance of commercial establishments and drive consumer traffic into participating grant establishments. This is available in certain zones of the city.

Neighborhood Matching Grant Program

Throughout city grants can be awarded for 50% of landscaping improvements up to $5,000 to encourage subdivisions to beautify their landscaped areas.
